About the Jersey Biopharma Council
The Jersey Biopharma Council is an industry body representing organisations operating within Jersey’s regulated biopharmaceutical sector. The Council supports, promotes and develops Jersey as a centre of excellence for biopharmaceutical research, trials, innovation, ethical commercialisation and responsible enterprise, while facilitating collaboration between industry, government and regulators.
The Council also supports education and information sharing to help policymakers, stakeholders, and the public better understand the role and potential of Jersey’s biopharmaceutical sector.
ROLE
The Council’s Role
The JBC supports the sector in three main ways:
Industry Representation
Providing a collective voice for the sector and engaging constructively with government, regulators and stakeholders on matters affecting the development of the industry.
Regulatory Engagement
Supporting dialogue between operators and regulators to ensure regulatory frameworks remain robust, practical and aligned with international standards.
Responsible Development
Promoting operational stability and responsible growth while ensuring that the sector develops in a way that protects Jersey’s reputation and long-term economic interests.
SECTOR
Sector Development
Jersey’s biopharmaceutical sector is developing within a high-value, tightly regulated global market. The Council supports this ambition by encouraging collaboration between industry participants and by contributing constructively to policy discussions that affect the sector.
By working collectively, members aim to support a sustainable and credible industry that contributes to economic diversification while maintaining high regulatory standards.
MEMBERSHIP
Membership
Membership of the Council is open to individuals and organisations that are lawfully authorised or professionally qualified to operate within the biopharmaceutical sector in Jersey, including holders of licences or qualifications for cultivation, research, manufacturing, or other regulated activities.
Members work collaboratively to share expertise, discuss sector challenges and support the responsible development of the industry.
The Council also welcomes applications from Full Individual Members, including researchers, consultants and other professionals whose work directly supports the regulated biopharmaceutical sector in Jersey.
