Recent reporting by the Jersey Evening Post highlighted that Jersey’s regulated medicinal cannabis and biopharmaceutical sector recorded its first annual profit in 2025.
According to the report, the sector generated more than £12 million in sales last year, supported by continued investment, export growth, and employment across the industry. The article also highlighted growing political support for the sector as part of Jersey’s wider economic diversification strategy.
Economic Development Minister Kirsten Morel described the industry as a “high-value, low-footprint” sector with long-term potential for the Island’s economy.
